April First

"GRΣΣK" was better this week. They held a flapper/speak-easy party. It was amusing but I did end up flipping over to "House" where an ill couple ended up being half-siblings.

It's Idol Top 9 tonight featuring Dolly Parton. I'll try to contain my horror until I see who is destroying what song this week.

Happy Birthday to Apple, Inc. Do you miss the gay apple?

Time To See Leopard's Spots...

It's that day! The WWDC keynote begins in just over 1 hour and we're promised a "feature complete" look at Mac OS 10.5 Leopard. Only Mac users would go so far as to obsess over keynote speeches and even create a bingo game. Get your bingo card-generating app here.

Mac Disappointment

It was announced today the next release of Mac OS X, 10.5 Leopard, would not ship in spring after all. That is, it won’t ship in spring of the northern hemisphere. Instead Apple will release a “feature complete” beta to developers in June and release Leopard to customers in October. This delay is supposedly caused by need of key Leopard QA and developers on the iPhone. On the upside of this delay it gives some added hope there might really be those “secret” features as yet unrevealed.

I don’t care about the iPhone. I hate phones. It makes a neat demo and Apple has to get it right on the launch. They can’t afford to have the negative reaction that came with Sony’s release of the PS3.

Rumors say the new developer release of Leopard has no use of “brushed metal” and instead uses the dreary iTunes 7 look in its place. Yuck. I use Aqua4iTunes to change the iTunes 7 appearance to something less sullen on the Mac.

New iTunes + Quicktime

Apple's released an update to iTunes (and Quicktime).
* Ejecting an iPod from Windows Explorer or the Windows notification area (system tray) using the "Safely Remove Hardware" feature may corrupt your iPod. To always safely eject an iPod, choose Eject iPod from the Controls menu within iTunes. If your iPod becomes corrupt, selecting your iPod in iTunes and clicking Restore in the iPod's Summary panel should return your iPod to a working condition.
* iTunes may display text or graphics incorrectly on your screen. Resizing the iTunes window should correct this issue.
* Contacts from Windows Address Book may not sync with iPod.
* iTunes remains unsupported on 64 bit editions of Windows, including Windows Vista and Windows XP x64.

There's a 3rd party plug-in for which lets you sync an iPod from WMP 11.
